Christia-Lydia Kastellani

Christia-Lydia advises private and public companies in a variety of sectors, on their ESG journey. She advises clients on compliance with such obligations stemming from the EU legal framework, as well as existing or upcoming local transposing laws, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, the Taxonomy Regulation and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. She assists clients shape their strategy, take decisions, and adopt good practices in view of existing and anticipated legislative measures as well as each company’s own sustainability-conscious values and objectives. In terms of corporate governance, she reviews and advises on the ESG policies of public listed companies, as well as on the set-up and role of ESG committees. Furthermore, she advises how ESG considerations affect the management’s decisions, the employees and stakeholders.

As part of her banking & finance practice, Christia-Lydia also has considerable experience in complex financings in the energy sector, having worked on high-profile oil and gas, or renewable energy projects involving Cypriot companies in recent years.

Linked to her experience in the area of banking & finance, she also advises on the requirements issuers will need to satisfy under the new EU Green Bond Regulation as green bonds and sustainability-linked bonds are expected to rise in the future.

Christia-Lydia holds an LLB from University College London, and an LPC from University of Law, London. With a keen interest in this fast-growing landscape, she regularly attends seminars and takes courses on ESG requirements and regulations, and writes legal updates on related developments.
